2024 saw VETWAYS presenting findings from the national study’s first wave of data collection to education and social network scholars as well as practitioners who work with student service members and veterans.

In April, Principal Investigator Dr. Ross Benbow and Graduate Assistant Ms. Xin Xie presented a scholarly paper on student service member/veteran attributes and perspectives to members of the 2024 American Educational Research Association annual conference, the largest professional educational researcher organization in the world. The conference took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In July, Dr. Benbow presented research on student veteran/service member social networks and belonging at the annual International Network for Social Network Analysis Sunbelt conference, a meeting of the foremost experts in social network studies. The conference took place in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

In October, Dr. Benbow presented an overview of VETWAYS research findings to student veteran and service member support officials at the 2024 National Association of Veterans’ Program Administrators (NAVPA) Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.

In November, Dr. Benbow and Co-Principal Investigator Dr. You-Geon Lee presented a scholarly paper on student service member/veteran university services support to members of the 2024 Association for the Study of Higher Education annual conference. It took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In December 2024, Co-Principal Investigator Dr. Matthew Wolfgram presented an overview of VETWAYS findings to University of Wisconsin System student veteran support officials in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
