Based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Veteran Education to Workforce Affinity and Success Study (VETWAYS) is a National Science Foundation-funded research study focused on a talented and increasingly important segment of the college student population: U.S. military service members and veterans in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Mission

Our primary goal is to increase understanding of how the social and science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) career trajectories of student military service members and veterans connect. With the generous support of the National Science Foundation, research findings will not only inform broader efforts to overcome challenges these talented and capable students face in college, but also help college and university leaders better serve future STEM professionals from highly skilled yet under-supported populations.
